Hanuman Dhaam: Beautiful Temple in Ramnagar, Uttarakhand

Uttarakhand

Basically Hanuman Dhaam is a religious place in Ramnagar. It is a temple which belongs to God Hanuman. It is built in Choi village which is about 5 kilometers from Ramnagar in Nainital district of Uttarakhand. This temple is really beautiful and very calm. This beautiful temple is situated on the bank of river Kosi. As name implies, Hanuman Dhaam is mainly related to God Hanuman but there are other idols related to different deities like Ram, Shiva, Ganesh, Goddess Parwati, Durga etc. This temple is largely built and each deity has his/her own room.  You will surely enjoy walking in the temple. This temple attracted me because of its quietness and cleanliness as well as beautiful infrastructure. In this post I will share my journey experience with you.
Tour to mountains

I travelled this place in a group of 7 friends. We all made a quick plan and started our journey. Quick plan because this place is not so far from us that we hesitate to plan a trip to Hanuman Dhaam due to money, time, transport etc. Ramnagar is about 70 kilometers from us. I started this journey in group by train. We all were very excited about this small trip. Our train was scheduled at early morning and we reached the station before time. After boarding the train we enjoyed this 70 kilometers journey very much because each member in group has some special quality of gossip. Kashipur is the station that is in between and after passing Kashipur you can clearly see the mountains. I always enjoy travelling in mountains and I can't tell you about my excitement in words. Train reached its destination ie Ramnagar on time and we alighted from the train. We decided to go to Garjiya first and after that Hanuman Dhaam. So we hired a autoricksha to Garjiya temple and then after spending some time there we started to our next destination ie Hanuman Dhaam. You can read my Garjiya trip and how to reach, here. You are going either Garjiya or Hanuman Dhaam, hire a auto ricksha from Ramnagar Railway Station that is easily available. You can go from Garjiya also although you have to come back to Ramnagar because both are in opposite direction.
Travelling

On our way to Choi there were many lichi gardens seeing which we want to pluck some but that was not possible. I should tell you one thing that Ramnagar is famous for lichi. You will find many gardens in which trees are full of lichies. If you are on your own vehicle, it might be possible to approach to the caretaker of that garden and you get lichies in low cost.
Visit to religious place

We reached Choi after travelling about 5 kilometers. Seeing the temple I was so glad that I wanted to stay there till the next day but we had to catch our train and return. Entering the temple in main hall there is a large idol of Hanuman. After this we went at different places in the same temple to get blessings from other deities. The temple is really beautiful.

Food: When we went there no facility for food was available at that time. So if you are planning to go there, make your arrangements in advance. It is better you take your meal in city ie Ramnagar. That time the temple was in construction mode, perhaps due to this there was no stall of food or snacks etc. But in future there would be some stalls.
Parking: No tension for parking. As the temple is situated on the bank of river Kosi, there is enough space to park your vehicle. If you are going by hiring a vehicle, you should pay attention towards your luggage, safety etc. When we reached there, one of our friends took a picture of  the number plate of autoricksha in which we went.
Other attractions: Hanuman Dhaam in Choi is a small trip so if you are going to this place in Ramnagar, you can visit other places also in the same day. You can go Garjiya temple which is also a religious place and is about 15 kilometers from Ramnagar in opposite direction of Hanuman Dhaam. You can visit the famous Jim Corbett National Park which is in Ramnagar. All these places are the parts of this very famous National Park. You can also go to the museum, about 7 kilometers ahead of Garjiya.
